Islands Restaurants Chooses Trusonic for In-Store and On-Hold Music and Messaging Services

San Diego, CA - May 16, 2005 - Trusonic, the leading provider of Internet-based business music and messaging services, announced today that Islands Restaurants has selected Trusonic for in-store and on-hold music and messaging services. Islands uses the music service to enhance customers' experiences while dining and informs callers about menu items with on-hold promotions.

Islands provides an enjoyable and distinctive dining experience by offering a simple, yet original and evolving menu in a tropical setting. Islands is intently focused on creating a fun, lively tropical atmosphere matched in quality only by its food and drink and by the friendly, attentive service by its team of experienced servers and bartenders.

"The atmosphere in our restaurants is an extension of the passion of our founder. The music is absolutely critical to that," said John Townsend, Islands' information technology executive. "The Trusonic system basically runs on its own, which simplifies what managers have to do as we can control the music and messaging from a central location. Our managers can remain focused on our guests. The system allows us to change music and messages daily if desired, which gives us a lot of flexibility."

Unlike traditional CDs or satellite services, Trusonic provides a simple, Web-based interface that gives customers the ability to control the mix of on-hold music, in-store music, and messaging for each store location. A Trusonic MBOX at each store automatically accesses Trusonic servers to download new music and messaging each day. Restaurants and retailers can select and schedule music and messages for each store, group of store, or all stores. The MBOX interfaces easily to any telephone system with music-on-hold capability.

Islands worked with Trusonic's music experts to develop a custom playlist that embodies the fresh, fun, eclectic mix enjoyed by its broad customer mix. It consists of upbeat, family-friendly songs across several genres. The on-hold track includes promotional messaging for new and popular menu items and gift cards. The restaurants also have external speakers so patrons can start the experience before they walk in the door.

"Our music programming team works with numerous well known clients, such as Islands, to tailor music solutions that are a perfect fit," adds Dave Purdy, vice president of sales for Trusonic. "Our technology allows us to continuously update specific music content while matching songs and artists to the atmosphere and marketing objectives of the establishment. The result is a custom sound that is easily managed."
